Privacy Policy

Neatling (the "app") collects no personal data. Your photos and location information never leave your Mac.

1. Personal data we collect

None. The app creates no account and never asks for your name, email address, or phone number. It does not send usage records to any server.

2. Photos and videos

The app reads only the folders you choose and, if you grant permission, photos from the Photos app. What it reads is processed entirely on your Mac and is never uploaded anywhere. Results are written only to the folder you designate.

3. Location

When turning GPS coordinates found in your photos into place names, only the coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service. No photo, file name, or identifying information is sent with them. That processing follows Apple's privacy policy. A place name, once resolved, is kept on your Mac so the same coordinate isn't looked up twice.

4. Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking technology of any kind. We have no way of knowing which features you use, or how often.

This website (neatling.com) counts visits only. Vercel Web Analytics records how often each page is opened. It sets no cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you across other sites. None of this touches the app.

5. Payments

Purchases of paid features are made through Apple's App Store. Payment methods and billing details are handled by Apple and are never visible to us. The app only asks Apple whether a purchase exists.

6. What is stored on your Mac

The app keeps the following inside its own container on your Mac, and nowhere else.

• Permission to reach the folders you chose (security-scoped bookmarks)
• Your settings — folder-name formats, grouping rules, place nicknames
• A tidy-up log, which is what makes Undo possible
• A cache of place names resolved from coordinates

Deleting the app removes all of it. The folders of organized photos remain, because they are yours.

7. Children under 14

Because the app collects no personal data, it can be used safely regardless of age.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the date above. If a change means we begin collecting information, we will say so inside the app first.
